Pig price in Central Highlands
In Quang Ngai, the price of live pigs increased by 1,000 VND/kg this morning, reaching 58,000 VND/kg, the same level as Ha Tinh, Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa.
The price range in the Central region currently fluctuates from 57,000 - 59,000 VND/kg. Of which, Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang are still the lowest localities in the region with 57,000 VND/kg.
Southern pig price
The Southern region recorded price increases in many places on the morning of September 12. After adjustment, Tay Ninh and Dong Thap reached 61,000 VND/kg, while Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City reached 60,000 VND/kg.
According to the update, the price of live pigs in the South is fluctuating from 59,000 - 61,000 VND/kg. An Giang, Vinh Long and Can Tho maintain the level of 59,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.
African swine fever situation in Gia Lai
According to Tin Tuc and Dan Toc Newspaper, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Gia Lai province said that 17 out of 22 communes and wards are now eligible to declare the end of African swine fever after 21 days without new outbreaks.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Diep, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Gia Lai province, said that since the end of June 2025, African swine fever has occurred in 22 communes and wards in 57 households. The total number of infected pigs that have been culled is 1,084 out of a total herd of 1,212. The total mass of culled pigs is 64,390 kg.
Thanks to the effective implementation of epidemic prevention measures, 17/22 communes and wards in Gia Lai have now gone 21 days without recording any new outbreaks and are eligible to declare the end of the epidemic. The list includes An Nhon Dong, Tuy Phuoc Tay, Tuy Phuoc, An Hao, Cuu An, Ia Nan, Mang Yang, Ia Tul, Ia Krai, Ia Grai, Chu Se, Ia Krel, Ia Phi, Lo Pang, Al Ba, Duc Co, and Ayun Pa.
Faced with the risk of disease recurrence, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai continues to assign the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine to coordinate with local authorities to strengthen inspection and monitoring of the situation, especially in areas where there have been epidemics; at the same time, maintain control at temporary inter-sectoral animal quarantine checkpoints according to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee.
In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to closely monitor livestock activities, detect pigs suspected of being infected with the disease to take samples for testing, identify the disease and handle it according to regulations; organize meetings with people to raise awareness of disease declaration and disease prevention. At the same time, functional forces were requested to strengthen inspection of production, slaughter, trading and preliminary processing in the management area.
