Pepper price on August 22 increased by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg

(GLO)- Today (August 22), the domestic market recorded a revival of pepper prices with prices increasing by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg after a series of flat days. In key areas, pepper prices were trading around 141,000-144,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Gia Lai province, pepper is at 142,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. With a similar increase, pepper in Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces is purchased at 144,000 VND/kg and 143,000 VND/kg, respectively.

In Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai alone, pepper prices increased by 2,000 VND/kg today, currently at 143,000 VND/kg.

In the world market, the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper decreased compared to yesterday at 7,151 USD/ton (down 0.31%); the price of Muntok white pepper decreased slightly to 9,996 USD/ton (down 0.31%).

Brazilian ASTA black pepper prices remained unchanged at $5,850 per tonne. Malaysian ASTA black pepper prices were stable at $9,400 per tonne, while the country’s ASTA white pepper prices reached $12,700 per tonne.

The price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,240 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,370 USD/ton; the price of white pepper reached 8,950 USD/ton.
