Rice price today July 28: Stable market, quiet transactions

Domestic rice prices remain stable, transactions are sparse.

According to records in An Giang and many localities in the Mekong Delta, the prices of fresh rice today remain stable, with no fluctuations compared to yesterday. The trading market is quiet, with traders buying less because they have collected goods since the beginning of the week.

Popular rice varieties such as OM 18, Dai Thom 8, IR50404... are purchased at 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg. High-quality varieties such as ST24, ST25 are kept at 8,500 - 8,700 VND/kg.

The glutinous rice market today is also flat. The price of fresh IR 4625 sticky rice fluctuates from 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg, 3-month dry sticky rice is stable at 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Domestic rice and by-product prices remain stable

At major rice granaries, raw rice prices remained unchanged today. OM 380, IR504 and OM18 rice remained at VND8,100 - 9,700/kg depending on type and quality.

In the retail market, prices of rice varieties such as Nang Nhen, Jasmine, Huong Lai or Soc Thai have not recorded any adjustments. Popular rice fluctuates between 13,000 and 17,000 VND/kg, while fragrant rice and Japanese rice remain high, from 20,000 to 28,000 VND/kg.

Export rice prices remain unchanged

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices continue to be stable. 5% broken rice is currently offered at 378 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 357 USD/ton; 100% broken rice at 319 USD/ton.

Meanwhile, Indian rice export prices fell for the third consecutive week due to large supplies and weak demand. In contrast, rice prices in Thailand and Bangladesh remained stable at high levels, indicating that competition in the global rice market is becoming increasingly fierce.
