The value of Hai Duong's agriculture, forestry and fishery products increased by 7.51% in the first quarter.

In the first quarter, the province's poultry flock reached 17,650 thousand heads, up 5.1%, exceeding the target by 0.28%.

Localities have completed harvesting 22,602 hectares of winter crops. Although the area target (22,635 hectares) has not been reached, due to favorable weather, products sold at high prices, many short-term vegetable areas have increased the planting coefficient, some crops have higher yields than the previous winter crop, contributing to raising the total output of all kinds of vegetables to 521,013 tons, an increase of 3.97% compared to the first quarter target.

The whole province completed the plan to plant 53,505 hectares of winter-spring rice; planted over 7,800 hectares of spring vegetables and colors; took good care of 8,800 hectares of lychee, with a flowering rate of over 95%. Completed support for the construction of 286,100 ^m2 of greenhouses and net houses.

The output of fresh meat for slaughter reached 50,730 tons, up nearly 32% compared to the target. The total herd of pigs was 461,000, up 5.4% over the same period last year; the herd of buffaloes was 5,520, up 2.2%; the herd of cows was 14,300, up 1.1%; the herd of poultry was 17,650,000, up 5.1%, all reaching and exceeding the target set for the first quarter.

Maintained stable 12,632 hectares of aquaculture, output reached 36,303 tons, up 6.6% over the same period last year. Newly planted forest area reached 73 hectares, protective forests and special-use forests were assigned to protect over 5,000 hectares. Timber output is estimated at 2,600 ^m3 , up 30%.

Thanks to good prevention work, Hai Duong has no outbreaks of disease in livestock and poultry.

The weather in the first months of the year was favorable for vegetable and livestock development. There were no outbreaks of livestock and poultry diseases in the province. In addition, the Lunar New Year holiday and many festivals occurred in the first quarter, so the demand for food consumption increased sharply, which also boosted the value of agricultural production.
