The price of gold rings dropped sharply in the buying direction, down to 79.5 million VND (buy), losing more than 8 million VND per tael. Meanwhile, the price of gold bars remained at 80.5-84 million VND.
According to a survey at 10:00 a.m. on November 13, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the price of gold rings of type 1-5 at only 79.5-82.2 million VND/tael (buy-sell), down 400,000 VND/tael for buying and down 200,000 VND/tael for selling compared to the end of yesterday's trading session.
Meanwhile, DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group raised the buying price of 9999 gold rings to VND80.8 million/tael, an increase of VND300,000/tael compared to yesterday's closing price, while the selling price remained at VND83.2 million/tael.

In the past 3 days, the price of gold rings has lost up to 2.7 million VND/tael.
There is a significant difference in the prices of gold rings listed by listed companies in the context of strong market fluctuations. PNJ Company listed the price of gold rings at 80.8 million VND/tael for buying and 82.4 million VND/tael for selling; DOJI Group sold plain gold rings at 83.2 million VND/tael while Bao Tin Minh Chau Company sold at 83.12 million VND/tael.
The difference between the buying and selling price of gold bars and gold rings is maintained by businesses at a high level of 3-3.5 million VND/tael. The price of gold rings also fell below the 80 million VND/tael mark for the first time in the past 3 months. With this difference, those who intend to surf the gold market have given up.

In the international market, early this morning, the world gold price decreased by 22 USD/ounce compared to the same time the previous day, down to 2,598 USD/ounce in the context of the strong increase in the USD price and the increase in US bond interest rates. Investors poured capital into bonds, so the cash flow into gold was limited. By 9:00 a.m., the price of the precious metal was trading at 2,607.6 USD/ounce.
Gold prices fell another 1% to their lowest in nearly two months on Tuesday, pressured by a strong recovery in the dollar. The US Dollar Index rose to a four-month high, making bullion more expensive for holders of other currencies.
According to independent analyst Ross Norman, the strength of the greenback is weighing on gold. The inverse relationship between gold and the greenback seemed to have disappeared in recent times. However, since the US presidential election, this relationship has come back strongly.
The USD is expected to benefit from some of the policies of US President-elect Donald Trump, as they are likely to keep US interest rates relatively high for longer, which will be an unfavorable environment for gold.
RJO Futures senior market strategist Daniel Pavilonis said the pullback is just a corrective move in a long-term bull market. He said inflation will rise again and that environment will push gold prices higher.
Markets are now looking ahead to October consumer price index, producer price index, weekly jobless claims, retail sales data, and speeches from US central bank officials, including Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, for more insight into the future path of US interest rates.
Following the decision to cut interest rates by another 0.25 percentage point at its recent meeting to a range of 4.50% - 4.75%, traders now see a 65% chance of another rate cut in December, compared with about 80% before Mr Trump's victory last week.
UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo said that at current levels, physical demand will increase. According to him, the push for gold will be in the range of $2,500 - $2,600 / ounce.
