On June 9, Gia Vien District People's Committee launched the Action Month for Children 2024; training on injury prevention for children.
Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of Gia Vien district; representatives of the Provincial Red Cross; Department of Culture and Sports ; Ninh Binh Cheo Theater; Provincial Cultural Center; communes and towns in the area.
Over the past years, the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Gia Vien district have effectively implemented programs and projects on child protection, care and education based on diverse resources, promoting the strength of the whole society, in accordance with the practical situation of each locality and unit. The mobilization and use of resources to implement the goal for children has been given attention; children's rights have been increasingly fully, effectively and practically implemented.
The issuance and implementation of specific policies for children have received high consensus from the people, typically the policy of giving gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year to children in special circumstances; supporting health insurance cards for children in poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households. Along with that, units and localities have regularly paid attention to, invested in, repaired and upgraded the infrastructure of cultural and sports venues, playgrounds in the community... so that all children can play in a safe space.
In practical response to the Month of Action for Children in 2024, communes and towns in the district will focus on activities such as: continuing to pay attention to leadership and direction in implementing the work of protecting, caring for and educating children; departments, agencies, organizations, localities and residential groups have at least one practical activity for children; strengthening propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society for the work of protecting, caring for and educating children; replicating effective models of activities; actively arousing and mobilizing the cooperation and contributions of organizations and businesses to increase resources for the work of caring for, protecting and educating children...
On this occasion, Gia Vien district opened art, physical education and summer sports classes for 2024; instructed children on drowning prevention skills; trained and improved the quality of Cheo singing, Van singing and the use of traditional musical instruments for art clubs in the district, many of which have children as members.
At the launching ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Red Cross presented life jackets and national flags to children in some communes in the area.
