Run for community and social security

(NLDO) - The race aims to raise funds to care for and support Vietnamese heroic mothers, war invalids, poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households... in District 10.

On the morning of December 1, the 2024 community run and social security care organized by the District Party Committee - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of District 10, Ho Chi Minh City officially took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

District 10 Party Secretary Le Van Minh awarded prizes and congratulated athletes with high rankings.

The race has 2,405 athletes who are officials, civil servants, public employees, students, armed forces, people from all walks of life, and professional athletes participating. What makes the race special and meaningful is the goal of raising funds for the Poor in District 10. Thereby, there is funding to support heroic Vietnamese mothers, severely wounded soldiers, and take care of poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households... in District 10 on the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025.

Through the 2024 District 10 running race, athletes, agencies and accompanying units joined hands to contribute to the District 10 Fund for the Poor a total amount of more than 5.7 billion VND.

District 10 People's Committee said that in 2024, the locality spent nearly 4 billion VND from the District 10 Poor Fund to take care of the subjects.

Accordingly, the district repaired 15 charity houses with a total amount of over 929 million VND; supported 272 Nguyen Huu Tho scholarships with a total amount of over 510 million VND; cared for and gave gifts to 3 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, a severely wounded soldier with a total amount of over 45 million VND.

In addition, monthly hardship allowances were provided to 81 cases with the amount of 156 million VND; 7,197 holiday care packages were supported for the poor with the amount of 3.5 billion VND, and 322 health insurance cards were issued with the amount of more than 196 million VND.

The People's Committee of District 10 said that the community run is an outstanding local sporting event in 2024, attracting the participation of many people from all walks of life. This is not only an opportunity to improve community health but also an opportunity for everyone to join hands to support those in difficult circumstances.

With its profound humanitarian significance, the People's Committee of District 10 hopes that the race will become an annual event, increasingly developing, creating a strong driving force for community activities, while promoting tourism and bringing practical benefits to people in difficult circumstances.
