According to the Organizing Committee, in modern society, work space and home space are being envisioned as two separate spaces.
Family values that appear in the company are considered unprofessional, professional values that apply in the family are considered cold.
However, both spaces are being defined by the same implicit structure that defines women's roles as caregivers in the home and support in the workplace; and men as breadwinners in the home and leaders in the workplace.
This gender bias has led to gender inequalities such as women doing 3 more hours of unpaid care work per day than men, while men only do 1 more hour of paid work per day than women (World Bank, 2022); the proportion of women in corporate leadership is less than 30% (CGEP, 2021).
Despite efforts in policy, education , media, and even law, these inequalities remain unaddressed because gendered structures in the workplace and home persist.
Therefore, with these discussions, speakers and delegates will learn and discuss gender mechanisms in the workplace and at home, as well as open up cultural and legal approaches in promoting gender equality.
