Director of Hue Lottery Company: We do not want to 'win or lose' with customers

The director of Hue Lottery Company said that he would wait for the court's decision and did not want to "win or lose" with Ms. N. in the case of refusing to pay the prize for the torn special prize lottery ticket.

On the morning of January 10, Hue Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Hue Lottery Company - PV) held a press meeting to provide information on the company's business situation in 2024 on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty.

At the meeting, Mr. Le Trung Phuoc - company director - said that in 2024, the company's total revenue is estimated to reach 530.9 billion VND, reaching 100.2% over the same period.

Of which, revenue from lottery ticket sales was 529.5 billion VND, reaching 99.3% of the plan.

The company's profit in 2024 is 27.1 billion VND. The total amount the company has paid to lottery winners is more than 253.2 billion VND (accounting for 47.9% of total revenue).

The company continues to issue two traditional lottery tickets per week on Mondays and Sundays. Images of historical sites and destinations in Hue City are selected by the company to be printed on lottery tickets, contributing to promoting the image of Hue City to customers in 14 provinces and cities in the Central Highlands.

Mr. Phuoc also said that 2024 was a difficult year for the company's business. However, the company's total revenue contributed significantly to the city's budget as well as to the restoration and preservation of Hue's ancient relics.

Regarding the civil lawsuit between the company and Ms. NTN (the owner of the lottery ticket that won the special prize but had part of the corner torn and the company refused to pay the prize), Mr. Phuoc said the company will wait for the court's decision and will not appeal.

According to Mr. Phuoc, although the company really wants to reward customers, it cannot do otherwise in this case because regulations are regulations.

"We will not appeal because we do not want to "win or lose" with customers. This is due to regulations so we cannot pay.

Someone told me why I don't negotiate with the customer to pay 1 billion VND. I immediately said no because the rule is either pay or don't," said Mr. Phuoc.
