Hanoi: 190 medical devices have their standard announcement numbers revoked, including HIV testing

Hanoi Department of Health has just issued a decision to revoke the standard announcement of 190 medical devices.

Specifically, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung signed and issued Decision No. 1179/QD-SYT on the revocation of the standard announcement number applicable to medical equipment of types A and B.

According to this decision, 190 medical device standard declarations were recalled. Reasons for recall include: These products do not meet the definition of medical devices; the products have an inappropriate purpose of use for declaring applicable standards for medical devices of type A and B; and the procedures for declaring applicable standards for medical devices of type A and B are not carried out in accordance with regulations.

Notably, many products on the list belong to popular groups such as: 70-degree medical alcohol, 0.9% sodium chloride saline, eye drops, fever-reducing wipes, blood glucose meters, nasal sprays...

In addition, HIV test products and dengue fever test products are also on this list.

Many businesses specializing in distributing medical equipment are on the list such as: Medstand Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, Sun For Life Company Limited, KYH Bio Tech Vietnam Company Limited, Healthcare HCT Joint Stock Company, Khoi Nguyen Medical Import-Export Company Limited... Among these are many long-standing names such as TW8 Pharmaceutical Chemical Joint Stock Company, TW9 Pharmaceutical Chemical Joint Stock Company...

Hanoi Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Technology Joint Stock Company, Ha Anh Medical Equipment and Materials Company Limited, Hungary and Vietnam Joint Venture Company Limited, and Phu Minh Khang Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company Limited all had 5 product registration numbers revoked.

In particular, the products of Ha Anh Medical Equipment and Materials Company Limited include spinal cement injection kits, surgical kits, various types of spinal needles, and multi-function drilling systems. Particularly, the Hungarian-Vietnamese Joint Venture Company Limited has recalled products such as pain-relieving sprays, Xuan Hong feminine hygiene solutions, etc.
