Hanoi: Fire breaks out in row of shops in Tay Ho ward

At around 2am on September 8, a fire broke out in a row of shops at 176 Xuan Dieu (Tay Ho ward, Hanoi).

The area where the fire broke out was a row of shops selling food, motorbike repair, and hardware and water supplies. The shops were built temporarily with a steel frame structure, corrugated iron roof, and were 1 story high. The fire covered an area of ​​about 150 square ^meters , with the main combustible materials being oil and plastic.

After receiving the news, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center urgently mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Teams of Areas 7, 8 and 14 (Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi City Police) to mobilize 6 vehicles and nearly 50 officers and soldiers to the scene.

At the same time, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department - City Police dispatched 2 command vehicles and 1 vehicle to directly transport vehicles to the scene to command the fire fighting and rescue work.

Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities discovered that the fire had grown large and was in danger of spreading to the surrounding area. Immediately, the fire and rescue commander directed the units to urgently exploit water sources and deploy zoning to prevent the fire from spreading.

At the same time, the fire fighting force coordinated with the local authorities to mobilize excavators to demolish collapsed structures and water trucks to supply water for fire fighting, opening the way for the fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue police to approach and extinguish the fire. The ward police, militia and volunteers coordinated to organize fire fighting, traffic flow, and ensure security and order in the area where the fire occurred.

After a period of firefighting efforts, at about 3am the same day, the fire prevention, fighting and rescue police force was able to control the fire. By about 4am on September 8, the fire was basically completely extinguished.

The authorities are currently investigating and clarifying the property damage and cause of the fire according to the law.
