Hanoi promotes tourism in the Indian market

In the context of rapid growth in international tourism, Hanoi has actively promoted the image of the thousand-year-old capital, a safe, friendly and attractive destination at the ITB India 2025 International Tourism Fair and the introduction program in Bengaluru.

From September 2-6, a delegation of the Hanoi Department of Tourism participated in the ITB India 2025 International Tourism Fair in Mumbai, Maharashtra state, Western India. This is an important activity to introduce Hanoi to the Indian market, one of the most potential and fastest growing international tourist markets today.

Hanoi participated in the ITB 2025 Fair with a booth themed “Hanoi - Come to love”. The exhibition space was uniquely designed, imbued with the capital’s culture, introducing typical tourism products such as cultural heritage, cuisine, craft villages, MICE tourism, luxury resort tourism, night tourism and regional tours. The booth also screened promotional videos, published tourism publications, and organized a program to introduce Hanoi destinations and connect B2B between Hanoi tourism businesses and Indian partners. This activity was accompanied by Vietjet Air and 15 hotel and travel businesses in Hanoi.

Within the framework of the Fair, on the afternoon of September 2, the Hanoi Department of Tourism organized a program to introduce and promote Hanoi tourism, attracting a lot of attention from Indian tourism businesses. The Vietnamese Consul General in Mumbai, Mr. Le Quang Bien, highly appreciated the efforts of the Hanoi Tourism industry in proactively and creatively promoting the image of Hanoi - Vietnam to the potential market of India. Mr. Le Quang Bien emphasized that this is not only an opportunity to introduce the thousand-year-old capital to the global tourism community but also a testament to the strong international integration steps of Vietnamese localities.

After the Fair, the delegation continued to participate in the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in Bengaluru city on September 5 and 6. Here, Hanoi and Vietnamese tourism units introduced images, products and tourism services to the Indian business community and press; attended meetings with local authorities and tourism associations to exchange management experiences, cooperate in product development and tourism promotion.

Mr. Le Xuan Son, Director of Authentic Asia Travel Co., Ltd., shared at the Fair: “The Hanoi Department of Tourism has created conditions and helped businesses to have the opportunity to participate in this fair. We have had the opportunity to exchange with local partners and service providers. With such a direct approach, it will create great opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to expand and develop the market.”

India is currently a potential international tourist market, especially interested in cultural tourism products, high-end resorts and MICE. These are the strengths of Hanoi tourism. Participating in ITB India and the promotion program in Bengaluru is an important opportunity for Hanoi to promote the tourism brand "Capital of Heritage and Creativity", a leading destination in the region to attract a large number of Indian tourists to Hanoi. This activity contributes to the goal of welcoming over 31 million visitors by 2025, including more than 7.5 million international visitors, positively contributing to the tourism and socio-economic growth of the capital.
