Hanoi proposes additional subsidy of 1 million VND/month for meritorious people and their relatives

The draft Resolution on regulations on special policies to support subsidies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives who are receiving monthly preferential subsidies for people with meritorious services of Hanoi city states the content and level of expenditure of special policies to support subsidies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives.

Accordingly, the policy's target subjects are people with meritorious services and their relatives who are receiving monthly allowances from Hanoi according to the provisions of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services to the revolution.

Specific subjects include: Revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945; Revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising; Vietnamese heroic mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces.

Labor Heroes during the resistance war period; War invalids (including Class B war invalids recognized before December 31, 1993, people enjoying policies like war invalids); Sick soldiers; Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals.

People who participated in revolution, resistance, national defense, and international duty and were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy; People who contributed to the revolution; Relatives of people who contributed to the revolution, including biological father, biological mother, wife or husband, children (biological or adopted children), and people who contributed to raising martyrs who are receiving monthly preferential pensions.

The level of support for meritorious people and their relatives who are receiving monthly preferential allowances for meritorious people is 0.5 times the standard allowance level for meritorious people according to the Government 's Decree regulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for meritorious people.

According to Decree No. 55/2023/ND-CP of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP stipulating the levels of benefits, allowances and preferential regimes for people with revolutionary contributions, the standard level of preferential allowance for people with revolutionary contributions is currently 2,055 million VND/month.

The proposal of the Hanoi People's Committee on this additional support level, if approved by the City People's Council, will see meritorious people and their relatives receive an additional VND 1,0275 million/month from the city.

The level of support changes when the regulations on the standard level of allowance for meritorious people change.

In case each individual enjoys preferential policies of many types of meritorious people and relatives as mentioned above, he/she will receive support for one type of subject.

If approved by the City People's Council, this Resolution is expected to take effect from January 1, 2025.
