Hanoi cleans streets and replants fallen trees

(NADS) - On the morning of September 12, according to NADS reporters, forces in Hanoi are rushing to clean up the streets and rebuild many fallen trees after the impact of super typhoon Yagi.

The ancient tree in front of Hanoi City People's Committee has been re-erected.

According to preliminary statistics, Hanoi has 8,700 broken trees, of which only about 1,900 can be replanted.

From now until the end of the month, the Hanoi Department of Construction and tree management and maintenance units in the city will replace, replant and add trees on the streets to ensure urban landscape and beauty.

It is known that the trees with high resilience and survival ability are those with diameters under 25cm. Rosewood, white and red Dalbergia tomentosa trees, and other ancient and rare trees such as Sanh, Si, and Da have been given priority to be re-erected on some main streets.

The trees next to President Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum have had their branches cut off and been re-erected.

Some trees next to the Electricity Corporation have also been "reborn".

Van Cao street has been mostly cleared.

Besides, some old trees in Hoan Kiem area and Thanh Nien street are still waiting to be re-erected.
