The first World Culture Day in Hanoi will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee at Thang Long Imperial Citadel from October 4-5.

" World Culture Day in Hanoi" aims to build an annual cultural diplomacy event of international stature, taking "culture as the foundation - art as the means" to connect countries; thereby, promoting people-to-people exchanges; enhancing mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community; at the same time, improving the spiritual and cultural life, aesthetic level and global cultural awareness for the people of Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general.

The event contributes to building a modern cultural and entertainment ecosystem, helping Vietnam catch up with global creative economic trends; strongly stimulating the cultural and tourism industry, creating jobs and promoting domestic consumption.

Every year, the Organizing Committee selects a theme for countries to focus on introducing and promoting their unique culture and arts, encouraging exchange and mutual understanding between countries at the event "World Culture Day in Hanoi."

"World Culture Day in Hanoi" will create an open, multi-sensory cultural space: Each participating country and international organization will have a separate booth to introduce culture, organize experiences or perform art in an open model, inviting the creative community, embassies, cultural institutes/international organizations to participate, design, sponsor and organize. The right to organize each area/space will be given to each country, but there will be common standards for layout and message.

Cultural exchanges are presented in a variety of forms such as: Art performances; fashion shows; talk shows; exhibition booths, cultural experiences (handicrafts, traditional costumes, music, paintings, visual art, creative products, etc.); competitions, voting and awarding organizations; cultural games - community exchanges; introducing Vietnamese and international cuisine, etc. Creating a multi-sensory cultural space, besides "performance" is "activating experiences" through sound - image - taste - interaction.

Combining tradition and contemporary: Along with promotional activities at each country's booth, there will be a common program: performances, art performances, parades, exchanges, competitions... held at the Main Stage or Common Space. Ensuring the liveliness and connectivity of international culture, not just a "living museum" but a connection and interaction for everyone; An event designed to be open, friendly, and engaging for the public.

Every year, the Organizing Committee selects and invites 1 Country as a Guest of Honor or Featured Country.

The theme of World Culture Day is profound, multi-faceted, evocative, inspirational, especially aimed at young people and the international community, contributing to spreading the message of peace, friendship, creativity, sustainable development and towards a better future. The theme is related to Vietnamese culture but carries a global message (peace-diversity-sustainability-creativity-inclusiveness...).

The theme content is both linked to Vietnamese cultural identity and reflects common human values, demonstrating the spirit of diversity in unity.

Notably, the first World Culture Day in Hanoi will take place right before the anniversary of the Capital Liberation on October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025, further deepening the important meaning of honoring cultural values, promoting international exchange and cooperation, and promoting the image and culture of Hanoi to friends around the world.

Regarding the preparation for this event, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh expressed his hope that the event would receive the attention, support and active participation of embassies, cultural centers and international organizations in Vietnam, considering this an important factor for the success of the event.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, Hanoi is currently the headquarters of many diplomatic agencies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers. Not only a workplace, Hanoi has become a city close to and closely connected with international agencies and friends.

Therefore, the presence and participation of the units at the event will be a vivid demonstration of love and attachment to Hanoi - the city for peace, friendship and cooperation./.
