These days, from early morning, on the way to Kiep Bac temple (Tran Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong ), cars line up in long lines, and the functional forces and local authorities have to direct traffic from afar.
The 2025 Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival will take place from October 1 to October 12 (ie August 10 to August 21 of the lunar calendar) with an upgraded scale of organization.
This year's festival is special because it is the first festival after the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage.
At the festival, many new and attractive cultural-spiritual- tourism activities are organized, creating a vibrant atmosphere, attracting visitors from all over.
This year's festival ceremonies and activities have been upgraded in scale, with standardized rituals worthy of world heritage status.
A place to spread heritage values
Right behind the Kiep Bac temple gate, in the Thanh Cac area, is the exhibition space for the theme "Con Son, Kiep Bac - Journey of world cultural heritage."
The artifacts and topics have recreated the 13-year effort of the three localities of Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong in building a dossier to nominate the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex to submit to UNESCO.
These are vivid evidences of the role, position and unique value of the relic system of Con Son, Kiep Bac, Thanh Mai, Kinh Chu, Nham Duong. This is the place associated with the formation and spread of Truc Lam Zen - an indigenous Buddhist sect founded by Emperor Tran Nhan Tong, which plays an important role in the lives of Vietnamese people to this day.
Also during this festival, the Department of Culture will announce 3 new tourist routes including A journey to 5 world heritage destinations, Following the footsteps of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam, Discovering the World Heritage Con Son-Kiep Bac. These new tours aim to bring the outstanding values of the heritage closer to the people and tourists.
This is an experiential journey connecting traditional and modern cultural values, exploring the depth of history, enjoying beautiful natural landscapes and immersing yourself in the unique festival atmosphere of the land of Con Son - Kiep Bac - a land of converging elite heritage.
In addition, the festival will also feature activities such as: the 583rd death anniversary of World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai; the 725th death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao; the opening of the Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2025; honoring the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the special feature of this year's festival is that along with traditional ceremonies, there are many attractive programs such as the Half Marathon at the Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Site; the 9-day Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week.
At Kiep Bac Temple Relic, the festival space is extended from the Kiep Bac Temple's ceremonial gate to Luc Dau River. The art program is staged combining performing arts, circus, modern 3D mapping visual arts, recreating the glorious feats of arms and people of the Tran Dynasty, especially of the National Duke and Commander-in-Chief Hung Dao Dai Vuong on the land of Van Kiep.
The Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week has an expanded scale, taking place in 9 days with 15 booths, divided into 3 areas, 6 miniatures to display, introduce, promote culture, tourism, trade promotion, OCOP products, typical agricultural and handicraft products, craft villages, organize performances, promotions, introduce the process of making products for visitors to experience.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Lien, Head of the Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board, said that the 2025 festival message is a traditional festival, creating a unique cultural highlight for Hai Phong city - the heroic city of the Eastern culture./.
