On the weekend evenings of September 19 and 20, the streets of Minh Xuan ward, Tuyen Quang province were bustling with many giant Mid-Autumn lantern parades with all kinds of animal shapes.
Attending this year's festival were 55 typical models from central wards such as Minh Xuan, An Tuong, Nong Tien, My Lam, Binh Thuan and 5 models from the Tuyen Quang Provincial Tourism Association.
This year, there are many beautiful peacock and carp models, elaborately crafted by artisans in and outside the province. Carp is often associated with the story "Carp turns into dragon", symbolizing the will to rise up, study well, and is also a symbol of perseverance and success.
The models help children understand more about Vietnamese legends and fairy tales, evoking memories of their childhood and the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. Among them, the tiger is also an attractive animal, symbolizing the strength and spirit of the Vietnamese people.
The Turtle of Hoan Kiem Lake and the Turtle Tower on the parade float. This is associated with the story of King Le Loi returning the precious sword to the Golden Turtle God, a symbol of justice, patriotism and the sacredness of the Vietnamese people.
Elephants are symbols of strength, loyalty and endurance, recalling the image of war elephants in the nation's history. This year, Tuyen Quang people also made a statue of the Trung Sisters riding an elephant to fight the enemy.
The picture shows a bee. This is an animal that always lives in colonies, closely organized, each with a task, a beautiful image of solidarity, discipline, and cooperation for the common good.
The image of the buffalo is associated with rice civilization, hard work, symbol of harvest and abundance.
The unique glowing shrimp model is decorated with electric fireworks effects, creating a bustling, vibrant atmosphere. The shrimp's curved back and jumping shape shows resilience and flexibility, reminding of the rise in life, overcoming difficulties to move forward.
Many units, organizations, and groups make dragon models to carry in processions on this occasion. This animal symbolizes power, strength, nobility, and wishes for national peace and prosperity.
Reindeer are a species that lives in the frozen region, accustomed to a harsh life, and also appear in the Mid-Autumn lantern models here. The image of reindeer is associated with flexibility, endurance, and tolerance. Tuyen Quang people often transform reindeer into colorful models, creating cheerful shapes, helping children feel excited. At the same time, it also shows the cultural exchange between East and West, making the festival both national and modern, integrating into the international community.
The Mid-Autumn Festival in Tuyen Quang also features many other decorative lantern models, attracting tens of thousands of people to attend every night. The official program will be held on the night of the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.
