Mr. Cho was born and raised in a poor farming family. Due to difficult family circumstances, he dropped out of school after high school, stayed home to help his parents with farming, and was stuck in poverty.
In 2022, Mr. Cho was supported by the People's Committee of An Quang commune (An Lao district, Binh Dinh province) with 6 black pigs (including 2 male pigs and 4 female pigs) for economic development.
Since receiving support for breeding pigs, he started building a livestock farm. Mr. Cho said that black pigs are raised semi-free range.
He takes advantage of available food in his garden and agricultural waste. Although the specialty black pig grows slowly, it is compensated by low raising costs, delicious meat quality, favored by many customers, and high selling price.

With the habit of reproducing twice a year, each litter of 8 - 10 pigs, after only 1 year of raising, the number of black pigs in the farm increased rapidly, at the peak time reaching 40 - 50 pigs.
Black specialty pigs are raised for about 6 - 8 months, reaching a weight of nearly 30 kg and can be sold.
Currently, the selling price of black piglets ranges from 1 - 1.5 million VND/pig and the price of live black pigs is 140 - 180 thousand VND/kg. Every year, Mr. Cho sells two batches of black pigs, earning a profit of more than 60 million VND.
With the motto of short-term profit for long-term profit, from the profit from raising pigs, Mr. Cho invested in planting forests, raising cows, making wine, opening a grocery store, buying 2 billiard tables... to serve the consumption and entertainment needs of local people.
Thanks to his business skills, his family's life is improving day by day.
“With the government's attention and support for breeding black pigs, I have the conditions to develop the economy, get rich, and have a stable source of income (more than 110 million VND/year).
Seeing that the business was effective, I voluntarily wrote an application to escape poverty, giving support to more difficult households.
Furthermore, as a party member, I have to be a good example and take the lead for other households to follow. We should not always rely on state support sources," said Mr. Cho.
