To ensure construction safety, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company opened two more spillway gates No. 6 and No. 7 at 6:45 and 7:00 on September 30.

Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company will gradually or continuously open the remaining bottom discharge gates (or open additional surface discharge gates depending on the flow to the lake) so that when the lake water level reaches 120.5m, all bottom discharge gates, surface discharge gates and water intake gates to the turbine will be fully opened.

The company requests relevant agencies and localities to immediately notify authorities at all levels, people, organizations operating on rivers and riverbanks; aquaculture facilities, water transport vehicles; ferry terminals; review and ensure the safety of works under construction; activities of sand and gravel exploitation, gathering and transfer to know information about flood discharge from Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir to proactively take preventive measures to ensure safety of people and property.

Tuyen Quang Hydrometeorological Station warned that on the morning of September 30, flood water level on Gam River continued to rise with an amplitude of 1-4m; at Bac Me, it peaked at alert level 3 and then slowly decreased; at Chiem Hoa, flood water level rose quickly and peaked at alert level 3; at Na Hang, it was at alert level 2 and then changed depending on the discharge flow of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant; on Lo River, flood continued to rise and fluctuated at a level below alert level 1 (except in old Ha Giang , it was at alert level 1 - alert level 2).

The flood water level on the river rose, the strong current caused flooding in low-lying areas with a depth of 2.0 - 4.0m, in some places over 5m and there is a risk of landslides in riverside areas, river banks and beaches, especially in areas with steep slopes and unstable soil structure.

People living along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas need to actively monitor the development of floods and be ready to evacuate to safe places when required. Households should absolutely not collect firewood, fish, or travel across rivers, streams, or culverts when floodwaters are rising. At the same time, reinforce houses and barns, move people, property, and livestock and poultry to higher ground. Local authorities and functional forces should increase vigilance at areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
