On August 27, information from Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company said that this unit is coordinating with the authorities to organize the funeral for the 4 workers who died in the coal mine collapse. In the immediate future, this enterprise and the authorities of Quang Ninh province will support 120 million VND for each victim's family.
The working delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province listened to the report on the incident.
Specifically, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company supported each victim's family with 70 million VND; Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee supported each victim's family with 20 million VND; Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) supported each victim's family with 20 million VND and TKV Trade Union supported each victim's family with 10 million VND.
According to initial information, at about 7:20 p.m. yesterday, August 26, at the backstage area, mining workshop 3 (Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company), a coal furnace collapsed, burying 4 miners.
After about 50 minutes of searching, at 8:10 p.m. the same day (August 26), the bodies of four workers were removed from the scene.
The identities of the four mine workers were later determined to be: Luong Hoai Nam (30 years old, hometown Hong Viet commune, Dong Hung district, Thai Binh); Truong Van Dai (33 years old, residing in Vang Danh ward, Uong Bi city); Nguyen Duc Thao (35 years old, hometown Quynh Hoi, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh); Pham Tien Dung (36 years old, residing in Mao Khe ward, Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh).

The initial cause was determined by the authorities to be due to heavy rain in recent days in the Vang Danh area (Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh) causing a water bag to burst, causing the coal furnace to collapse.
Also this afternoon (August 27), Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien visited and worked with Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company regarding the above serious labor accident.

During the inspection, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien requested TKV and Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company to apply the State and business policies to provide maximum support to the families of the deceased workers. Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company coordinated with the departments and offices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies to clarify that the company's labor safety regulations and standards were strictly implemented in accordance with regulations and that the incident was only an unexpected and unavoidable event.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien also suggested that through this incident, TKV needs to review current legal regulations and industry regulations related to labor safety work to propose and recommend timely amendments and additions to regulations on labor safety coefficients in underground mining.
