The stormy weather in the North has caused many tourists to worry about canceling their tours to hunt for the golden season on terraced fields. However, the weather at the two ripe rice viewing spots of Hoang Su Phi (Ha Giang province) and Mu Cang Chai ( Yen Bai province) has cleared up again.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Trieu Thi Tinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Giang province - said that tourism activities in the locality are still taking place normally.

September is the time when the rice season in Hoang Su Phi is at its most beautiful. The weather at this destination is very nice, sunny. In the early-ripening rice fields, the locals have started harvesting, in the remaining areas about a week later the rice will ripen beautifully.

“During the recent storm, the road to Hoang Su Phi district only suffered some local landslides at a few small spots, Ha Giang has handled the situation, and the road is now clear. Tourist spots to see ripe rice in Hoang Su Phi and Suoi Thau grassland (Xin Man district) are beautiful and ready to welcome visitors,” Ms. Tinh shared.

According to Mr. Long Chinh Xuan - homestay owner in Ban Phung, the terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi were not affected by storm No. 3, the rice has gradually turned a beautiful golden color. Next week is expected to be the most beautiful time in Ban Phung.

Last week, due to the impact of storms, floods and landslides in the North, many tourists canceled their tours to Hoang Su Phi to see the ripe rice season. Accommodations in Hoang Su Phi are still ready to welcome guests.

In Mu Cang Chai, Mr. Trinh The Binh - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Mu Cang Chai district - said that the recent storm and flood in the district had some landslides on the roads, which have now been repaired.

Tourists can travel to Mu Cang Chai and experience the ripe rice season next week.
