Thanh Hoa Club has registered midfielder Nguyen Trong Hung and central defender Dinh Tien Thanh in the list of players for the second leg of V.League 2024/25. Before the season started, coach Velizar Popov immediately removed the player born in 1997 from the first team for many different reasons.
However, when the Bulgarian coach left, Trong Hung was allowed to return and will have the opportunity to play for his home team for the rest of the season. The Thanh team needs Trong Hung in difficult times and hopes he can prove his ability.
Nguyen Trong Hung returns to Thanh Hoa's first team.
In the past, Nguyen Trong Hung was considered the hope of Thanh Hoa football. He debuted for the first team in 2019, leaving a lot of impressions with beautiful moves and important goals. By the end of the year, he was called up to the U22 Vietnam team and was also present in the Vietnam national team.
Coach Park Hang Seo included the player born in 1997 in the list of players attending SEA Games 30. He contributed 1 goal in the match against Brunei then got injured and will miss the rest of the tournament.
Returning to his home team, Nguyen Trong Hung did not perform as expected. He was continuously absent due to injury, to the point that coach Nguyen Thanh Cong admitted that his student's physical condition was problematic. It was not until coach Popov took charge of Thanh Hoa that he once again put his trust in the 1m72 tall striker. He played well in the National Cup and helped Thanh Hoa win the championship for the first time.
However, things did not go smoothly in the following year. Trong Hung only played 11 matches in the V.League 2023/24. He did not have any more goals or assists for the Thanh team. In addition, the 27-year-old midfielder also suffered minor injuries that made his performance not go smoothly.
This return is considered the last chance for Trong Hung to show that he is worthy of the fans' expectations.
