According to The Post Office UK, Vietnam's ancient town of Hoi An tops the list of 10 most valuable tourist destinations in 2024.
The Post Office UK's criteria for ranking are based on factors that are likely to influence travellers' decision-making for their 2024 holiday, from exchange rates to the cost of eating out and visiting each destination's popular attractions. From there, the magazine will come up with a list of the world's best value travel destinations , where travellers get more value for their money with cheap and reasonable costs.
According to The Post Office UK, the ancient town of Hoi An leads the way thanks to its budget-friendly prices, with restaurants and bars costing less than other places. Out of eight popular items for tourists, Hoi An is at the top with three items having low costs: Beer (about 1.47 USD), Coca-Cola (about 0.91 USD) and sunscreen (about 4.70 USD). This cost level has helped Hoi An jump from 6th place in 2023 to 1st place in 2024.
According to The Post Office UK, Hoi An is one of the most charming cities in Vietnam. There is no hustle and bustle like in big cities. Visitors can spend the morning on the pristine beaches, the afternoon visiting fascinating historical sites and finding the best food at Hoi An night market.
