To make the wood and forestry processing industry one of the key sectors of the province's agricultural economy , Nghe An province has set out a number of key tasks that need to be focused on.

Firstly , it is necessary to promote the development of concentrated raw material areas, prioritizing the planting of large timber forests with FSC certification for sustainable forest management. The goal by 2030 is that the whole province will have at least 80,000 hectares of large timber forests and 70,000 hectares meeting FSC standards.
Second , encourage investment in the wood processing industry in a modern direction, applying advanced technology, prioritizing deeply processed products such as MDF boards, pellets, furniture and fine arts with high added value. Support businesses to expand markets, build brands and promote exports to high-end markets such as the EU, the US and Japan.
Third, focus on implementing the North Central region high-tech forestry zone in Nghe An, aiming to turn this place into a wood processing center and a hub to attract high-tech projects in the forestry sector.

Fourth, develop a stable market for wood products, take advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs), and at the same time build geographical indications and brands for Nghe An wood products.
Fifth, focus on training and developing high-quality human resources and promoting digital transformation in production.
Sixth , strengthen the role of state management, perfect forestry development policies associated with environmental protection and climate change response.
The Provincial People's Committee pledges to accompany and provide maximum support to the business community, cooperatives and people in the process of developing the forestry and wood processing industry in a modern and sustainable direction.
