In his opening speech, Mr. Duong Bach Long affirmed: “The environment is a vital factor, directly related to people’s lives. The survey in Gia Loc ward helps us better understand the problems at the grassroots level, thereby advising on perfecting more practical policies and laws.”

At the workshop, delegates frankly stated the current state of environmental management in the ward. Over the years, although Gia Loc ward has paid attention to the propaganda of waste classification and the construction of green - clean - beautiful roads, there are still some difficulties: The specialized staff is thin, the garbage collection system is not synchronized, the budget is limited, and the awareness of some people is not high.

Representatives of the Ward's Urban and Infrastructure Economic Department and organizations said that to improve efficiency, it is necessary to strengthen the community's monitoring role and apply technology in monitoring and collecting waste.

Some businesses also proposed a socialized model in investing in transfer stations, linking environmental protection with circular economic development.
