Over 100 billion VND to build a national historical relic in Ca Mau

Ca Mau invested more than 100 billion VND to build the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La victory historical site. This is a symbol of victory, a symbol of heroism.

On November 19, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La Victory Historical Relic Project. This is one of the 7 projects to welcome the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, emphasized that when completed, the project will add to the province's historical relic guide and be a symbol of victory and heroism.

The project has a construction area of ​​29,540m2, with a total investment of 106 billion VND, including items such as: Martyrs' stele, historical stele, traditional house, souvenir counter, square, central monument area...

In which, the monument and relief are the image of the Dakota plane shot down by our army and people and the statue cluster representing three types of troops: Main force - Local army and Guerrilla, the masses. The monument and relief are 16.45m wide, 15.3m high, made from gray-white Granite of Ba Ria - Vung Tau .

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, said that on November 23, 1963, under the leadership of the Military Region, the Provincial Party Committee, the Campaign Command, the armed forces of Military Region 9 and the people of Ca Mau province attacked and won a great victory in the battle to destroy the Cai Nuoc - Dam Doi sub-region and the Cha La stronghold, breaking the "helicopter transport" strategy and bankrupting the enemy's "special war" strategy.

According to Mr. Luan, the victory at Cai Nuoc - Dam Doi and Cha La stronghold demonstrated creativity and the strategic motto of combining military struggle with political struggle.

Mr. Luan affirmed that this is an important national project. When completed, it will be added to the province's historical relic guide and will be a symbol of victory, a symbol of heroism, a great pride crystallized and blended from the soul of the land and the love of the people of Ca Mau - the southernmost land of the Fatherland.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Dam Doi - Cai Nuoc - Cha La victory historical site is ranked as a national relic, a place of local cultural and historical significance, demonstrating the patriotism and heroic fighting tradition of previous generations in the resistance war for national independence; consolidating and enhancing the patriotism of the people, especially the young generation, and a place for sightseeing and tourism for people inside and outside the province.
