Mrs. Cai's family is a poor household, now in dire straits due to a serious illness. She and her husband, Mr. Le Minh Thanh (59 years old), both used to be seasonal workers with unstable incomes. Her only daughter, Le Thi Kim Thoa (37 years old), is a single mother, raising her son, Le Nguyen Truong Giang, since birth until he is 7 years old. In 2020, Ms. Thoa suffered from heart failure and chronic kidney failure, had to undergo dialysis 3 times a week, and is currently in very poor health.
In May 2025, Mr. Thanh was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to undergo radiation therapy, but had no money for treatment and had to stay home to endure the pain. All the family burdens fell on Mrs. Cai's thin shoulders. Every day, she had to work hard to make a living, such as cleaning the factory, collecting scrap metal, etc. to earn money to pay for medicine and raise her grandchildren.

When Mrs. Cai's family was in despair, the program Sharing the Pain came in time, like a bridge connecting kind hearts.
“We always believe that with the cooperation of the community, every difficult situation can light a ray of hope for a brighter tomorrow. Kindness will be the spreading flame, so that no one is left behind" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, Chairwoman of the Association for the Protection of the Disabled, Orphans and Poor Patients of Dong Nai Province shared.
Mr. Vu Quoc Thai, Chairman of Tam Phuoc Ward People's Committee and representatives of Ward 2 presented gifts, encouraged and committed to accompany so that the humanitarian journey would spread further and reach more unfortunate lives. Photo: Phu Quy |
At the program, representatives of clubs, teams, volunteer groups and benefactors presented Mrs. Cai's family with more than 133 million VND. Of which, over 33 million VND was used to support medicine and treatment for Mr. Thanh and Ms. Thoa. The remaining 100 million VND was deposited in Mrs. Cai's name and handed over to the local authorities to manage to focus on long-term treatment for family members and to raise Giang's education.
“For many years, I have been exhausted, not because of the hard work, but because of the constant fear that one day, my husband or child will pass away, leaving me alone with my orphaned grandchild. Today, like a dream in real life, I am truly grateful to the benefactors who have supported me both materially and spiritually. This money has been used in time to buy medicine, keeping my husband and daughter with me and my poor grandchild longer" - Mrs. Cai choked up and shared at the program.
