At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang - Principal of Nam Can Tho University - was moved to share that these are the feelings that the youth of Nam Can Tho University want to send and share with people in the flood-affected areas, especially students in the affected areas.

With the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", immediately after seeing the painful images of loss of people and students in the flood-hit areas, the school's leadership, Youth Union, and Student Association launched a campaign to contribute, with the sentiment of "turning towards the North".

The Youth Union's campaign took place from September 11 to September 18, with more than 25,000 students and trainees participating in the campaign. The total amount of money raised was 130 million VND, which was given to the Tuoi Tre newspaper program.

"I hope Tuoi Tre newspaper will act as a bridge, sending thousands of hearts of students from Nam Can Tho University to our compatriots and students in the North" - Mr. Quang said emotionally.

Representing students of Nam Can Tho University, Nguyen Quoc Khang - a student majoring in multimedia communications - shared that the donation amount is not large, "but it is our whole heart sent to the flood-affected people in the Northern region.

As soon as we saw the news about the damage to people in the flood-affected areas, when the school launched a donation campaign, almost all of us students participated and encouraged our relatives to contribute.

Representative of Tuoi Tre newspaper received the contribution from students of Nam Can Tho University, journalist Hoang Tri Dung (Head of Tuoi Tre newspaper office in the Southwest) expressed his thanks for the contribution of the youth union members.

Tuoi Tre Newspaper will act as a bridge, handing over this money along with contributions from readers to the people affected by the storm and flood in the North. Especially for the post-storm and flood reconstruction programs, awarding scholarships to students, repairing and building schools in the damaged areas.

Previously, the school's staff, lecturers and employees also contributed 1 day's salary to support the Northern people affected by storm No. 3, with a total amount of 650 million VND, transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City.

On the same day, representatives of Chau Van Liem High School (Can Tho City) also presented 8 million VND to representatives of Tuoi Tre Newspaper in the Southwest region. This is the amount contributed by the school's students, through the Youth Union's campaign from September 11 to September 18.
