Hong Hoang protects the environment

Although it has only been established and in operation for nearly 2 months, the Hong Hoang Green Club (in Hamlet 4, Phu Ly Commune, Dong Nai Province) has made many practical contributions to forest protection, environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.

With the core force of prestigious people in the community, Hong Hoang Green Club has effectively promoted the work of propaganda, dissemination, legal education , raising awareness of people in the forest area, helping people comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws.

Contribute to keeping the "green lungs"

Recently, members of the Hong Hoang Green Club often take advantage of weekends to collect trash and clean up along the flower road in Hamlet 4, Phu Ly Commune. This beautiful action quickly spread, attracting the participation of many people living on both sides of the road, contributing to making the road increasingly "bright - green - clean - beautiful".

Mr. Bui Van Son, a long-time resident of Hamlet 4, Phu Ly Commune, commented: “Although the Hong Hoang Green Club was established recently, this model has done many practical things. Thanks to the Club's propaganda, people have raised their awareness of law compliance and actively participated in environmental protection. Not only are the village roads and alleys more spacious and clean, but the local appearance is also increasingly improving.”

Sharing the same view, Mr. Bui Van Dieu, also residing in Hamlet 4, Phu Ly Commune, said: “Since the establishment of the Hong Hoang Green Club, the village and neighborhood ties have become even closer. People often meet, visit, encourage each other, and share effective business experiences to develop their family economy and stabilize their lives. In particular, people work together to maintain security and order, environmental sanitation, and contribute to the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve to protect forests and wildlife.”

Nguyen Thi Lien, Head of the Hong Hoang Green Club, said: The Hong Hoang Green Club was established by the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve and has been operating stably since the beginning of August 2025 with 17 members. These are exemplary and prestigious people in the community and join the Club voluntarily, with the goal of contributing to protecting the "green lung" of the area.

Not only participating in environmental sanitation and waste classification, Hong Hoang Green Club also carries out many meaningful activities for the community. A typical example is the "Charity Rice Jar" program, mobilizing monthly resources to give 50 gifts to lonely elderly people and households in difficult circumstances. Through this activity, Club members also incorporate legal propaganda, helping people raise awareness and comply with the State's policies and laws.

“When people discover suspicious objects in the forest, they immediately report them to the forest rangers. From that source of information, we can promptly monitor and prevent illegal forest encroachment.”

Effective "extended arm"

Head of Bau Dien Forest Protection Station (under the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Conservation Area Forest Protection Department) Nguyen Van Tuan said: The unit is assigned to directly manage more than 5,000 hectares of forest with only 7 officers and employees. The large area, adjacent to a densely populated area, makes forest management and protection difficult and challenging. However, the support of green clubs and people has helped ensure forest protection, forest fire prevention, and wildlife protection.

In particular, the electronic fence line for elephant conservation passing through the Bau Dien Forest Ranger Station also received the support of the Hong Hoang Green Club. Club members actively propagated and encouraged people not to damage the equipment, promptly reported when detecting incidents such as fallen trees, stolen equipment or elephants trying to knock down electric poles, etc. so that the responsible unit could come to repair and fix it, both protecting the elephants and ensuring the safety of the people.

Deputy Director of the Center for Ecology, Culture and History of the D War Zone (under the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve) Bui Van Toan said: The Green Club model has been implemented by the Reserve for more than 12 years, with 12 Green Clubs and more than 350 members in the communities in the forest area.

“The green clubs have truly become an effective “extension” of the conservation area, contributing significantly to the management and protection of forests, wildlife, forest fire prevention and biodiversity conservation…”, said Mr. Toan.
