Meeting of the Steering Committee of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Dien Bien Province

Comrade Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Congress Steering Committee chaired the meeting.

Information at the meeting, based on the Central's directive documents, the guidance of the Ethnic Committee, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to establish the Steering Committee, the Sub-committees assisting the Steering Committee, the Standing Office and relevant agencies to guide localities in implementation. Up to now, 10/10 districts, towns and cities have successfully organized the Congress of ethnic minorities at the district level.

The provincial congress is expected to be held in November 2024, at the Provincial Cultural Convention Center, with 250 official delegates, ensuring the structure and composition of ethnic groups and gender. The expected personnel list includes 9 members of the Presidium, 3 members of the Delegate Qualification Review Committee, and 2 members of the Secretariat. The congress will also organize other activities such as: Offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Martyrs' Temple; visiting the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery; visiting the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, a welcome art performance at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument Ceremony Ground; visiting and giving gifts to ethnic minority families; displaying OCOP products at the congress.

Representatives of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee presented draft documents at the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and agreeing on a number of contents: Congress organization program; number of official delegates attending the congress; presentation of political reports; propaganda work; emulation and reward work; necessary conditions for successful organization of the congress...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Tien requested the Provincial Ethnic Committee to absorb all opinions at the meeting; urgently review and complete documents before September 10 to report to the Steering Committee. The member agencies of the Steering Committee continue to coordinate with the Ethnic Committee to perform well the assigned tasks to prepare well for the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2024.
