Successfully detonated a nearly 130kg wartime bomb

While digging soil to build a house foundation, people discovered a bomb left over from the war.

On July 9, the Engineering Department (Dak Lak Provincial Military Command) coordinated with relevant units to detonate a bomb discovered in Dak Lieng commune (Dak Lak province).

Previously, on July 4, while excavating the hill behind the house to make a foundation and slope to prevent landslides, Mr. Bui Tan H.'s family (Doan Ket 1 village, Dak Lieng commune) suddenly discovered a strange cylindrical object. Upon inspection, Mr. H. discovered that it was a bomb left over from the war, so he reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the Dak Lieng Commune Military Command sealed off the scene and assigned officers and soldiers to protect it in accordance with regulations on handling explosives, to ensure absolute safety for the people. Through inspection, the bomb was determined to weigh about 127kg, about 20cm wide and about 90cm long.

On the afternoon of July 9, after moving the bomb to a safe area, authorities successfully detonated it.
