Keysight Accelerates Network Automation with Open Network Test

In today’s dynamic network environment, businesses must find new ways to ensure seamless connectivity, interoperability, and innovation. The siloed, discrete test solutions used in traditional network test environments create challenges for network engineers and architects because they operate in isolation, lack interoperability, and are inflexible.

Keysight now offers a wide range of convenient test solutions.

Lack of interoperability makes it difficult for devices and technologies from different businesses to communicate seamlessly with each other, slowing down innovation and limiting the ability to meet the growing demands of modern distributed applications.

To address these challenges, Keysight created the Open Traffic Generator (OTG) API, a vendor-neutral project, to transform network infrastructure testing and address the need for open, targeted, and easily automated test methodologies. The OTG project enables the co-design of cross-industry test suites in open networking projects such as OpenConfig, SAI, SONiC, SONiC-DASH, and DENT.

The KENG software also supports OTG APIs, integrates with several network simulation platforms, and leverages several Keysight hardware and network infrastructure test software products. These include the Ixia-c containerized software and the new white-box-capable UHD400T wire-speed traffic generator.

The software also enables the same tests to be performed in different environments, including developer laptops, development software in public/private clouds, certification labs, as well as data centers and network edge locations, facilitating collaborative testing of devices from multiple vendors.
