Opening of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament

On the morning of October 3, the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025 officially kicked off its third season at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Stadium.

This is an annual tournament jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

Entering its third year, the tournament continues to affirm its position as a healthy and beneficial sports playground, creating opportunities for exchange, physical training, and improving the spiritual and cultural life of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide.

In his opening speech, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu, Head of the tournament's Steering Committee, said that after two seasons, the Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament has become a useful and healthy playground and a place for exchange, meeting, sharing, inspiration and motivation for workers and civil servants.

"We expect the tournament to continue to promote the results achieved in the previous two tournaments and create new colors and new values. We believe that through the tournament, we will continue to affirm the stature and health of workers and civil servants nationwide," Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized.

According to the plan, the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will go through 2 stages. The qualifying round will be held in the Northern region (Hanoi) and the Southern region (Ho Chi Minh City) to select the 16 best teams to participate in the national final round, taking place at the end of October, in Ho Chi Minh City.

The total prize for the Northern region qualifying round is up to 170 million VND. Of which, the champion team of the regional qualifying round receives 60 million VND, the second place team receives 40 million VND, and the third place team each receives 20 million VND.

In addition, the regional qualifying round also has many other awards such as best player, top scorer, best goalkeeper, most fair-play team, most impressive cheering team, best referee team. Each award is worth 5 million VND.

A notable highlight is that all matches of the tournament are livestreamed on social networking platforms of the Tuoi Tre ecosystem, the tournament fanpage and the Vietnam Trade Union fanpage.

The Northern regional qualifying round gathered 16 participating teams, including: Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, Vietnam Education Trade Union, Ninh Binh Trade Union, Hai Phong City Trade Union, Dien Bien Trade Union, Hung Yen Trade Union, Hanoi City Trade Union, Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union, Phu Tho Trade Union, Vietnam Health Trade Union, People's Public Security Trade Union, Vietnam Bank Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Trade Union, State Bank, VPBank, Agribank.
