Khanh Hoa: Rescued 3 backpackers lost in the forest on high mountains overnight

On the morning of June 23, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police informed about the successful rescue of 3 young men who got lost in the high mountains while backpacking since the afternoon of June 22.

Previously, at 3:23 p.m. on June 22, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police received a phone call from Mr. Nguyen Trung Luan (born 2002, residing in Vinh Luong commune, Nha Trang city), urgently requesting police assistance in rescue, because he got lost on Hoang Nguu Son mountain in Phuoc Dong commune, Nha Trang city.

According to Mr. Luan, in the morning of the same day, many groups of young people invited each other to go on an adventure trip to Hoang Nguu Son mountain. Because they were so engrossed in admiring the scenery of the mountains and forests, he and two friends, Pham Tien Phap (born in 2002, residing in Vinh Luong commune, Nha Trang city) and Huynh Kim Long (born in 2001, residing in Ninh Hiep ward, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province) got lost in the forest in an area with many steep slopes, deep ravines and precarious rocks.

Although the group tried their best to search, they could not find the exit from the forest, while the afternoon sun was gradually leaning towards the mountain. Faced with that situation, Luan called the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province Police to ask for help.

Immediately after receiving the news, Major Dien Xuan Hung, Captain of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Area 1, under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, commanded 6 officers and soldiers to urgently get on the rescue vehicle to Phuoc Loc village, Phuoc Dong commune, coordinate with the police, militia and the security and order team of Phuoc Dong commune to walk up Hoang Nguu Son mountain, deploying a search and rescue plan throughout the night.

After many hours of effort, the working group found three young men lost in the forest, but the journey to bring the three victims from the high mountain to the road was extremely difficult, because they had to overcome many mountain slopes and precarious rocks, fraught with many uncertainties and dangers.

However, with the highest determination, the working group of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Zone 1 under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, together with the Police, militia and the Security and Order Team of Phuoc Dong Commune, brought the group of people who got lost on the mountain to the road in the residential area of ​​Phuoc Loc village, Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City at 9:10 p.m. on June 22, ensuring safety.
