Quoc Hung is a second-year student majoring in information technology at a university in Hanoi . During his high school years, Quoc Hung was a good student, always in the top of his class. He once dreamed of becoming a good software engineer, but after only one semester, Hung became addicted to online games.
Hung's room was cramped, so he stayed up until dawn every day to play games. Hung knew that playing games too much would affect his studies, but he delayed changing, thinking "I'll make up for it tomorrow." Over time, Hung's grades continued to plummet.
He became less social with his friends, only immersed in the world of games. The pressure of studying and the uncertain future made Hung increasingly disoriented...
Not addicted to games, but the habit of procrastination makes Dieu Linh (from Dai Tu, Thai Nguyen ) live in the days of "time tycoon". Linh graduated in social work. When she first graduated, Linh was determined to find a suitable job to start her career.
But when a series of emails were only rejected or silenced, Linh began to feel discouraged and give up. Every day she slept in, only leaving her room around noon. She spent most of her time surfing social networks, watching entertaining videos or chatting with friends.
Plans to find a job, learn new skills or attend training courses were all left unfinished or postponed indefinitely. This apathy came from prolonged fatigue and frustration, not knowing where to start.
She gradually distanced herself from the people around her, communicated less, and avoided facing her own pressure and responsibilities. Linh was indifferent not only to the opportunities before her, but also had no plan or clear goals.
Thai Minh, a third-year student in Ho Chi Minh City, has the habit of "sleeping during the day and playing at night". While, after school, Minh's friends work part-time to earn money or do internships to experience the working environment, Minh spends his time... sleeping.
Minh has classes in the afternoon, so he sleeps until 12 noon every day, has a quick bowl of instant noodles, and goes to school. In the evening, Minh goes to the gym until 10 pm. After that, he watches Tiktok, reviews movies, and chats with friends until late at night. He goes to bed after 2 am.
This habit of circadian rhythm deviation makes Minh’s health increasingly decline, he loses concentration in studying, and gradually falls into a state of isolation from real life. Minh’s social relationships are increasingly limited, and his future becomes uncertain when he cannot create positive living habits for himself.
Not only does Minh stay up late, he also shows a loose lifestyle by often pampering himself without caring about the consequences. On days when he doesn't have classes, Minh spends the whole day lying in bed, eating irregularly, even skipping meals to "entertain" himself on the phone.
Minh has no interest in making plans or intentions for the future. Minh thinks that he should just live by his feelings, do whatever he likes, and leave the future for tomorrow.
The stories of the young people mentioned above are not uncommon today. They live indifferently to their own future, trading precious time for immediate pleasures, not caring about their health and ability to develop themselves.
