On the afternoon of November 6, the People's Committee of Co Giang Ward (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) became a classroom for 36 students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University.

Students participated in practical classes, listened to a brief introduction about the committee, understood the role of each ward official, experienced welcoming people to do procedures and learned about local online public services.
Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee directly guides
The lesson took place in 2 periods (lasting 2 hours), within the subject "Quality management of public services".
The special thing about this class is that the person teaching the class is not a lecturer but the Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Co Giang Ward (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. Huynh Thi Ngoc Han.
Ms. Han took the students to visit each department and listened to her share practical knowledge about the locality.
Ms. Han appreciates students' ability to absorb, explore and learn.
"In the past, when I was a student, I was also confused at school because most of the lessons were theoretical. When you get to experience the real world, you can visualize your field of study. Besides, you can also orient your aspirations and needs as well as what job you will do after graduation.
We create opportunities for you to gain practical experience and orientation to serve your profession. The ward will create conditions for you to work, practice guiding people as well as experience online public services and administrative procedures" - Ms. Han shared.
Vo Do Anh Khoa confided: "Today's field trip helped me gain a lot of experience. After graduating, if we work in an administrative agency, we will be more stable and familiar with the job."

Great significance for students
Mr. Tran Tuan Ngoc - lecturer of public management, faculty of economics and public management, Ho Chi Minh City Open University - said that this is the first class of the school to go to the committee for practical training.
"This activity is very meaningful for students, connecting with practice to train them to be able to work best after graduation. Real people will introduce the working process, responsibilities and tasks of each department at the committee.
After studying here, students will write a report and discuss it with each other to see how the theory and practice are," said Mr. Ngoc.
It is expected that in the coming weeks, students will have a field trip to the People's Committee of Trung Chanh Commune (Hoc Mon District) and the Public Administration Center of Ho Chi Minh City.
Le Huynh Kim Tuyen shared: "This is the first time we have had a real experience with the state management apparatus at the grassroots level. We learned how to operate the apparatus and how to carry out administrative procedures. Going on field trips helps me to absorb knowledge easily."
