According to the Party Central Committee Office, on February 16, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, the Secretariat met to assess the implementation of the directive on organizing the 2024 Giap Thin New Year; and directed a number of key tasks of Party committees at all levels in the coming time.

The Party Central Committee Secretariat highly appreciated and welcomed agencies, organizations, Party committees and authorities at all levels for seriously implementing Directive No. 26 of the Secretariat on organizing the Year of the Dragon in 2024 with many good, creative and effective ways. In addition, many social resources have been mobilized to help people in all regions and overseas Vietnamese celebrate Tet in a peaceful, joyful, healthy, safe and economical atmosphere.

The work of taking care of Tet for people, policy beneficiaries, social security, organizing cultural activities, festivals, ensuring supply and demand of goods , transportation, communication, security, order, disease prevention, practicing thrift, fighting waste... has basically been well implemented, in accordance with the policies of the Party and State.

Localities, agencies, units and enterprises all organize on-duty during Tet, launching production at the beginning of the year with an excited spirit and high determination. This year's Tet, there are more projects and key national works being constructed during Tet, organized in "3 shifts, 4 teams" such as the North - South Expressway, Long Thanh International Airport, 500 kV line 3, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project, Tan Son Nhat Terminal T3, Underground Station S12 ( Hanoi Railway Station)...

Ensure smooth operation of public services

Regarding upcoming tasks, the Party Central Committee Secretariat requested that central agencies and Party committees at all levels continue to pay attention to and learn from a number of emerging issues in organizing Tet celebrations and spring celebrations for the people, especially the management, orientation of production, supply of Tet goods , ensuring traffic safety, use of firecrackers, fire prevention and fighting, etc.

The Secretariat also requested that, immediately after the Tet holiday, agencies, units and localities focus on implementing political tasks, quickly bring activities back to normal, ensure public service activities take place smoothly, well serve the needs of the people; do not let the situation of prolonged Tet holiday, neglecting work, affecting the production and business activities of people and enterprises happen.

Ministries, branches and localities focus on promoting the development of industrial production and construction; focus on taking good care of the 2024 winter-spring rice crop, proactively preventing diseases on crops and livestock; continue to support a number of important industries and fields directly affected by the world market...

The Secretariat also emphasized the synchronous implementation of solutions to maintain national security, order and social safety, and step up crime prevention and control, especially drug crimes, gambling and other social evils during the spring festival.

At the same time, it is necessary to well implement social security policies and regimes; focus on taking care of the lives of a group of unemployed workers facing difficulties; review and thoroughly resolve complicated cases and conflicts over the rights of workers and laborers, not letting them drag on and become "hot spots" for security and order.

The Secretariat proposed to increase vigilance, protect internal political security..., strengthen information and propaganda work, improve the quality of cultural and information-oriented programs, affirm the achievements in economic, cultural and social development of the country and localities as well as effectively fight against false, distorted and untrue arguments of hostile forces.

Giving Tet gifts worth more than 20,000 billion VND to over 13.9 million beneficiaries

According to the general summary report, the Party executive committees, Party delegations, Party committees and authorities at all levels have proactively and promptly organized and seriously implemented the organization of the 2024 Lunar New Year in accordance with local and unit realities; well prepared conditions to serve people to celebrate a joyful, healthy, safe and economical New Year with the spirit of "letting no one go without a New Year", maintaining and creating a new momentum to promote production and business activities, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.

The market for goods is rich and ensures quality with an increasingly high proportion of goods originating from Vietnam, preventing speculation and price fever; traffic and communication are basically smooth; fire prevention and fighting, and food hygiene and safety have made much progress compared to Tet many years ago.

Party and State leaders visited and extended New Year greetings in 63 localities, presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and workers who could not return home for Tet; extended New Year greetings and encouraged compatriots in remote, isolated, and disadvantaged areas, and forces on duty during Tet.

Central and local levels and sectors have supported and given Tet gifts to over 13.9 million beneficiaries nationwide with a total amount of nearly 20,000 billion VND. Of which, nearly 7.5 million union members and workers have been supported and taken care of during Tet with a total amount of more than 4,200 billion VND.
