Entering the 2025-2030 period, VNU identifies patriotic emulation as a key driving force to concretize the Party's major resolutions, especially Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on science, technology development and innovation; Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training; and Resolution No. 45-NQ/TW on developing intellectuals. In that spirit, emulation movements will focus on three pillars: building VNU into a leading regional center of knowledge, science, technology and innovation; developing elite, high-quality human resources to meet digital transformation and international integration; pioneering in fulfilling social responsibilities, making practical contributions to community and national development. VNU continues to attach importance to discovering, nurturing and replicating advanced models, promptly rewarding to encourage the striving spirit of collectives and individuals.
The emulation movements are organized in an in-depth manner, linked to strategic tasks: developing cutting-edge technology institutes such as Semiconductors and Advanced Materials, Quantum Technology, Artificial Intelligence; expanding the international cooperation network; and building Hoa Lac into a green, smart, and creative university center. The spirit of innovation, creativity, solidarity and dedication will be the guiding principle for VNU to realize its aspiration to reach the top 500 universities in the world, and at the same time become a core science and education center serving the country's development in the new period.
Vice Rector of the University of Natural Sciences Tran Quoc Binh emphasized the role of basic science as a sustainable foundation for innovation. The University has developed many strong research groups, published more than 600 WoS/Scopus articles and dozens of patents each year. In parallel with research, the University focuses on application in the fields of artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, energy and environmental technology. The University of Natural Sciences affirmed that basic science will continue to be a pillar, contributing to making VNU become a leading center of science and technology.
Focusing on the mission of training elite, high-quality human resources, both integrating internationally and preserving national cultural identity, President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of building a strategy to discover and nurture talent, especially in the context of global competition for high-quality human resources. The school also shared experiences in innovating training programs associated with the digital economy , while promoting national cultural values as a unique competitive advantage.
Representing the typical examples of the team of lecturers and scientists in VNU, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Manh Tri - lecturer of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Natural Sciences, sent a message about the belief and aspiration of young scientists. He affirmed that basic research is the "underground stream" that nurtures scientific breakthroughs, and at the same time called for stronger investment in fundamental science. The environmental research projects that he and his colleagues have conducted have contributed to formulating policies to protect public health, demonstrating the practical role of basic science in sustainable development.
VNU President Hoang Minh Son assessed that the Congress was an opportunity to look back on 5 years of vibrant emulation movements, praising the achievements that the VNU collective has achieved thanks to the spirit of solidarity "One VNU". He affirmed that the emulation movement has gone into depth with many initiatives in teaching, research and management, associated with the spirit of "Emulation is patriotism" as Uncle Ho called.
