At the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia and Oceania 2025 ceremony held on the evening of October 13, in Hong Kong (China), Moc Chau National Tourist Area (Son La) was honored in the category "Top natural destination in Asia".
This is also the 4th consecutive time (from 2022-2025) that Moc Chau National Tourist Area has been honored in this prestigious category, demonstrating the strong attraction and outstanding value of the colorful highland.
The award significantly contributed to Moc Chau National Tourist Area continuing to be nominated for the award "World's Leading Regional Natural Destination 2025".
Previously, Moc Chau National Tourist Area was twice honored as "World's Leading Regional Natural Destination" in 2022 and 2023, contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese tourism on the global tourism map.
With this award, Moc Chau National Tourist Area once again affirms its position and influence on the Asian and world tourism map, and its attractiveness to domestic and international tourists. The award also creates new momentum, opening up many opportunities for developing green and sustainable tourism for the national tourist area in the Northwest region.
About 150km from Hanoi , Moc Chau National Tourist Area (Son La) is considered one of the most important national tourist areas on the "Through the Northwest" tourist corridor of the main traffic route National Highway 6. This place has diverse and attractive tourism resources, both in terms of natural tourism resources and cultural tourism resources.

In particular, Moc Chau plateau is favored by nature with countless unique landscapes, cave systems, waterfalls, majestic mountain and forest landscapes such as: Bat Cave, Ngu Dong Ban On, Dai Yem waterfall; Tat Nang waterfall, Nang Tien waterfall; pine forest of Ang village, Pha Luong mountain; hot spring system in Phu Mau village...

In the tourist area, there are currently 4 National Monuments and nearly 20 Provincial Monuments. Many unique cultural values of the Thai, Mong, Dao, Xinh Mun, La Ha, Muong ethnic groups... with 7 national intangible cultural heritages are being preserved, promoted and are a valuable resource to form typical local tourism products.
Experiencing community tourism in this national relic site in the northern mountainous region, visitors will be attracted by many ethnic villages and hamlets that still preserve traditional cultural lifestyles such as traditional housing architecture, traditional occupations, and traditional costumes.
Communities in Ang Village, Dong Sang Commune; Vat Village, Muong Sang Commune; Ta So Village, Chieng Hac Commune; Ta Phinh Village, Tan Lap Commune (Moc Chau District); Hua Tat Village, Van Ho Commune, Van Ho District are the "nuclei" that the two district authorities are focusing on building and developing.
