Check and urge the progress of new rural construction at the end of the year

On November 25, the working delegation of the Office of the Coordination of the New Rural Development Program (OOPD) of Thanh Hoa province, led by Mr. Cao Van Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief of the Office of the OPD, inspected and urged the acceleration of the implementation of the district-level OPD criteria, the progress of disbursement of public investment capital, and the development of OCOP products.

Members of the working delegation learned about the material and spiritual life of the people and the progress of building a model new-style rural village in village 12, Lam Son commune (Ngoc Lac).

According to the topic, the working group inspected a number of public investment projects under the National Target Program for New Rural Development in Trieu Son and Ngoc Lac districts. In reality, the projects were invested in the right direction, ensuring compliance with the regulations of the National Criteria for New Rural Development. Up to now, the two districts are urgently completing the remaining projects.

For projects behind schedule, the head of the working group requested localities to actively coordinate with contractors and relevant agencies to remove difficulties and speed up construction progress.

The working group also visited a number of OCOP product production facilities in the two districts, such as the production facility of vermicelli and tapioca starch in Ngoc Lien commune (Ngoc Lac), ginger tea, perilla, and guava leaves in Hop Thanh commune (Trieu Son) to inspect production activities, and at the same time, guide and request localities to soon complete the conditions for recognizing OCOP products for potential products.

Many infrastructure projects from the National Target Program on New Rural Development in Ngoc Lac and Trieu Son are required to speed up construction progress.

The working group also requested the two localities to complete the criteria for the district-level, commune-level and advanced NTM standards. In particular, Ngoc Lac district should quickly complete the procedures to meet the NTM standards; Trieu Son district should quickly complete the documents and procedures to submit to the Central Government for appraisal of the advanced NTM district.

According to the report of the Provincial Office of New Rural Development, in the first 10 months of 2024, the whole province mobilized over 6 trillion VND to invest in the New Rural Development program. The total investment capital plan from the central budget in 2024 (including the extended capital in 2023) for the province is over 575 billion VND, to date the disbursement progress has reached 85.87%. In addition, in 2024, the provincial budget has allocated over 182 billion VND for the program, the disbursement progress has reached 40.48%.

As of November 25, the whole province had 1 more district, 9 communes and 36 villages meeting the new rural standards; 2 districts and 26 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards; 11 communes and 80 villages and hamlets meeting the model new rural standards; 100 OCOP products were recognized.
