Bac Ninh's economy grew 2.32% in the first 6 months of the year

On June 17, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province held a press conference on the socio -economic development situation in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2024.

In the first 6 months of the year, under the proactive, flexible, appropriate, drastic and practical direction, the province's growth was promoted in all 3 economic sectors; price fluctuations in the province were controlled, major balances were ensured; people's lives were improved, social security was well ensured.

GRDP in the first 6 months of the year increased by 2.32% over the same period in 2023; industrial production recovered positively, the index of industrial production (IIP) of the whole industry increased by 1.5%; trade and service activities took place vigorously, total retail sales of goods and service revenue was estimated at 49,964 billion VND, up 8.5%.

State budget revenue and expenditure are guaranteed, resources are cleared; estimated state budget revenue reached 17,688 billion, reaching 56.6% of the estimate, up 19.5%.

Investment promotion, attraction and business development activities have been stepped up, many working groups have been established to promote investment and seek development cooperation opportunities in many countries such as China and some European countries. New FDI projects have been granted twice as much with registered capital increasing by 1.2 times, and newly established businesses have increased by 6.5%.

The cultural and social fields have developed comprehensively; cultural, artistic, and sports activities have been organized in a diverse and effective manner, meeting the people's cultural and spiritual needs; the quality of key education continues to affirm its leading position in the country.

Administrative reform work is focused on, Bac Ninh ranks 3rd in the country and first in the Red River Delta region in terms of Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI).

Political security and social order and safety are ensured; continuing to implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on building a "Traffic Safety Province", traffic accidents are reduced in all three criteria...

In the coming time, it is forecasted that the world and domestic situation will continue to develop in a complicated and unpredictable manner, affecting and influencing many fields. Bac Ninh province will focus on synchronously implementing solutions to strive to achieve the estimated target for the whole year of 2024, with 2/17 targets exceeding the plan; 12/17 targets meeting the plan; 3/17 targets will be determined to strive to achieve the plan.
