Disciplinary warning for the Principal of Hai Phong University

The leader of the Inspection Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee said that the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee had met and agreed to discipline the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong University Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term with a warning.

Previously, the City Party Committee's Inspection Commission inspected signs of violations against the Party Committee of Hai Phong University and a number of related party members in the leadership, direction, organization of enrollment, training and granting of university degrees in English language, part-time program (second degree), course 21 and class K21N.

Hai Phong University has a dormitory that violates fire safety regulations, forcing students to leave suddenly at night to find a place to stay.

Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violation, the Hai Phong Inspection Committee proposed that the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee consider disciplining the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Hai Phong University for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, Hai Phong also decided to discipline according to its authority in the form of warning against Mr. Nguyen Van Kinh, Party Committee Secretary for the 2020-2025 term, Chairman of the School Board and Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Principal of the school and Mr. Doan Quang Manh, Vice Principal.

In addition, Mr. Do Phuong Lam, Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Center for Foreign Languages, Information Technology and Continuing Education, was also disciplined with a warning.

The leaders of Hai Phong City People's Committee informed that next week they will likely announce and rearrange the personnel of Hai Phong University's leadership.

Delay in granting diplomas affects students' rights

Previously, in 2022, the K21N English language university class, part-time program, 21st course (abbreviated as K21N English language class) had 65 students recruited and trained by the Center for Foreign Languages, Information Technology and Continuing Education of Hai Phong University.

Hai Phong University organizes classes at Hanoi Informatics College located at 73 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Dong Da District, Hanoi City. The full-course training plan starts from June 2020, ends in March 2022 and all modules are online.

By March 2022, class K21N had completed four semesters, tests, graduation exams, and paid all training fees to the school. On March 31, 2022, the graduation recognition council met and recommended granting degrees to 52 qualified students.

However, Hai Phong University later announced that during the inspection and review process, it discovered that the records and documents related to class K21N did not meet the requirements.

Among these violations, there was a student who, at the time of admission, did not have a first university degree and accompanying transcript but was still recognized as qualified.

In addition, during the training process, some course exams lacked the signature of examiner number 2, some examiners did not clearly state their full names, and some exams lacked the signature of the examiner.
