Vietnam becomes the top attractive destination for international investment flows.

Also on September 23, Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung attended a Policy Dialogue roundtable organized by the Weatherhead East Asia Institute, Columbia University, USA.

Professors and scholars say the world is entering a turbulent period with profound shifts in the global economic structure and the risk of supply chain disruption. Three key trends are emphasized: increasingly fierce geopolitical and geo-economic competition, the shift to renewable energy, and a strong wave of innovation.

In that context, Vietnam is highly appreciated for its outstanding advantages in the fields of energy and electronics, along with a stable political environment, becoming a leading attractive destination for international investment capital flows.

Delegates made many recommendations to help Vietnam take advantage of opportunities and proactively respond to challenges. The focus is on perfecting a transparent legal corridor, creating conditions for the private sector to participate more strongly; developing regulations on digital data exploitation and artificial intelligence application. At the same time, strengthening regular dialogue between local authorities, central agencies and the business community.

Acting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung said that in the coming period, Vietnam's strategic goal is to become a developing country with modern industry and reach upper middle income by 2030; and to become a developed, high-income country by 2045.

To realize that goal, Vietnam is determined to build an independent and self-reliant economy, resolutely implementing many comprehensive and strategic policies on science and technology, private economy, education, health care, etc. in parallel with reforming and streamlining the administrative apparatus, promoting comprehensive and deep international integration. Science, technology and innovation are the most important driving forces for Vietnam's development.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung believes that to achieve sustainable success, there needs to be a close connection between the "three houses": the State - Business - Scientists, creating an innovative ecosystem; in which each element complements each other, promoting comprehensive development.

The Acting Minister highly appreciated the cooperation activities between Columbia University, the Weatherhead East Asia Institute and Vietnamese agencies, and suggested that the two sides continue to promote cooperation, exchange and research to make the most of the opportunities brought about by the scientific and technological revolution, contributing to the development of Vietnam.
