On December 29, OceanBank reduced deposit interest rates by up to 0.7 percentage points. Specifically, OceanBank reduced 0.6 percentage points for terms from 1-5 months. Terms from 1-2 months to 3.7%/year, and from 3-5 months to 3.9%/year.

Banks further reduced 0.7 percentage points for 6-8 month terms, down to 4.8%/year, and 9-11 month terms by 0.6 percentage points to 5%/year.

Interest rates for online deposits with terms of 12-15 months decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 5.5%/year, and for 18-24 months, they only decreased slightly by 0.1% to 5.7%/year.

OceanBank maintains the 36-month deposit interest rate at 6%/year. This is the only deposit term that is not adjusted and is the highest at OceanBank.

Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade (Saigonbank) today announced a further reduction in interest rates for both term and non-term deposits. The interest rate for non-term deposits has just been adjusted from 0.5%/year to only 0.2%/year.

For term deposit interest rates, Saigonbank reduced 0.4 percentage points from 1-11 month term. 1 month term is 2.8%/year, 2 months 2.9%/year, 3 months 3%/year, 4 months 3.2%/year, 5 months 3.3%/year, 6 months 4.2%/year, 7-8 months 4.3%/year, 9 months 4.4%/year, 10 months 4.5%/year, 11 months 4.6%/year.

Saigonbank kept the 12-month term unchanged at 5.1%/year, while reducing the 13-month term by 0.2 percentage points to 5.3%/year.

The term from 18-36 months decreased slightly by 0.1 percentage point to 5.5%/year. This is also the highest mobilization interest rate at Saigonbank.

Up to now, mobilization interest rates are at an unprecedented low, especially for the group of 4 state-owned commercial banks ( Agribank , BIDV, Vietcombank, VietinBank).

Currently, the highest interest rate in the Big4 group is 5.3%/year for customers depositing savings for 24-36 months at Agribank, VietinBank and BIDV . At Vietcombank, the highest interest rate is 4.8%/year for 12-24 months.

Vietcombank listed 1-2 month term at only 1.9%/year, this term at Agribank is 2%/year, VietinBank 2.2%/year and BIDV 2.3%/year.

According to statistics, since the beginning of the month, 23 banks have reduced deposit interest rates: HDBank, Techcombank, Eximbank, KienLongBank, SCB, PGBank, MB, MSB, NamA Bank, ABBank, Vietcombank, BIDV, VIB, VPBank, TPBank, Saigonbank, VietBank, ACB, VietinBank, Agribank, LPBank, SeABank, OceanBank.

Of which, MB, Eximbank, SCB, Techcombank, VPBank, KienlongBank, Agribank, Vietcombank, TPBank, VietinBank, MSB, ACB, Saigonbank are the banks that have reduced interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.

Notably, BIDV, Agribank, VPBank and SCB have adjusted deposit interest rates down three times this month, while VIB has reduced interest rates four times.

PGBank alone increased its deposit interest rate by 0.3 percentage points, while ABBank increased its deposit interest rate for 5 and 8 month terms.
