Lam Dong speeds up construction of 8 resettlement areas to serve the North-South high-speed railway project

On the afternoon of August 8, comrade Nguyen Hong Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to discuss solutions to speed up the construction progress of 8 resettlement areas to serve the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through the province.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee chaired the working session with relevant departments, branches and localities.

The North-South high-speed railway project through Lam Dong province is 156.5 km long, including 2 stations and 4 maintenance stations.

To serve this project, 8 resettlement areas have been identified and are being built in 8 communes and wards.

The working session was connected online with the People's Committees of 8 communes and wards with projects in the area.

According to a report from the Department of Construction, resettlement projects are at different stages, with significant progress.

Despite significant progress, according to reports from departments and localities at the working session, these resettlement projects still face a number of problems related to planning, compensation, etc.

Many areas are not in line with current planning and require adjustments and environmental documentation. Procedures related to planning, design and contractor selection still need to be resolved.

To solve these problems, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai directed relevant departments, branches and sectors to focus on reviewing and guiding Project Management Board 2 and other localities.

Departments and branches spoke and proposed solutions to promote project progress.

Accordingly, comrade Nguyen Hong Hai directed the Department of Construction to coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review and proactively discuss with the Ministry of Construction and the Railway Board to receive guidance and have documents to guide localities on land use planning and construction planning; review the list of rice land use.

The Department of Finance consults and synthesizes investment funds for 8 resettlement areas, and has a document requesting the Central Government to arrange funds. The province will advance capital to keep up with progress.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai emphasized: "Currently, the location for the resettlement area has been determined. Localities need to do a good job of land management, not allowing people to intentionally plant trees or use land to do things to take advantage of site clearance work.

At the same time, carry out tasks related to site clearance such as holding meetings with people, organizing information and mobilizing people in advance, so that when land acquisition for the project is carried out, it will go smoothly.
