Lam Thanh My returns hauntingly in "The Contract to Sell Strawberry"

The movie The Contract to Sell Strawberry has just released a teaser poster and teaser trailer, revealing a magical cinematic space with a famous cast: People's Artist Trung Anh, People's Artist Minh Chau, Lam Thanh My, Huu Vi, Lanh Thanh...

Inspired by the novel of the same name by writer Thuc Linh, the movie Khe uoc ban dau is set in a historical setting. The film, directed by Le Van Kiet, revolves around Nhai (played by Lam Thanh My) - a young bride who has just married into the Vu family, and is then accidentally caught up in a terrifying "contract" with the devil.

In the newly released teaser poster, the central image is of a young woman in a red wedding dress - the symbol of the bride in traditional culture - lying curled up, alone on the ground.

Remarkably, surrounding the small and helpless figure is a "vortex" created by dry, twisted tree trunks that seem to be "swallowing" the young girl, strongly evoking the idea of imprisonment or a sacrificial ritual.

Opening with a majestic mountain scene reminiscent of the Northern mountainous region, the wedding ceremony of groom Vu The Dinh (played by Huu Vi) and bride Nguyen Thi Nhai (played by Lam Thanh My) took place with soft music, creating a more gloomy atmosphere than joyful. Along with that, the almost indeterminate, cold gaze of the bride and groom on their wedding day aroused even more curiosity.

“I must give birth to a son to carry on the great cause” reveals the special role and responsibility of daughter-in-law Nguyen Thi Nhai. Following that are haunting images: swallowing worms, wriggling maggots growing from under the skin on the back.

In particular, the film also reveals the details of the character Nhai being "pregnant" along with a series of painful moments and helpless screams, marking a strong and bold transformation of the Gen Z actress.

Made an impression through many horror projects Soul Snatcher (2014), Sleep Paralysis (2021) or most recently Con Cam (2024), Lam Thanh My is expected to bring a new aspect of acting. In particular, this is the first time she "fell in love" with actor Huu Vi.
