For the first time, Quang Binh has 3 OCOP products meeting 5-star standards.

NDO - On January 14, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province announced that the province has just issued a decision approving the results of the evaluation and classification of 10 provincial-level OCOP products under the One Commune One Product Program in 2024. Of which, for the first time in the area, 3 products have met 5-star standards.

According to the decision approving the evaluation results and classification of 10 provincial-level OCOP products under the One Commune One Product Program in 2024, there are 3 products that meet 5-star standards, 6 products that meet 4-star standards and 1 product that meets 3-star standards. Specifically, the 3 products that meet 5-star standards are Tuan Linh vegetarian fish sauce (92.33 points) and Tuan Linh wood ear mushrooms (90.33 points) of Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative, Son Loc Commune, Bo Trach District; Quang Thuy wooden chopsticks (93.44 points) of Quang Thuy wooden chopsticks production and trading cooperative, Quang Thuy Commune, Ba Don Town. These are all famous OCOP products of Quang Binh province that are exported to foreign markets.

According to the representative of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, products with a recognition result of 5 stars or more (over 90 points) are eligible to be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for evaluation and classification of products at the central level. Therefore, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Binh was assigned to advise on procedures to do this work.

Products with 4 stars or more (from 70 to 90 points) are granted OCOP product certificates by the Provincial People's Committee according to regulations.

According to the leaders of Quang Binh province, along with the national target program for new rural construction, the development of OCOP products is extremely important. In particular, the work of reviewing, evaluating, and classifying OCOP products is the basis for entities to improve their products, ensure good quality, food safety and hygiene, and serve domestic consumers and exports well.

It is known that by mid-2024, Quang Binh will have 186 OCOP products recognized, of which 28 products are 4-star and 158 products are 3-star. Quang Binh is promoting the implementation of the OCOP program, prioritizing key products that meet 4-star and 5-star standards to bring competitive advantages and enhance product value.
