Tet TV series in Hell Village has just had an early media premiere. This is the first Vietnamese historical horror series with cinematic quality.

The project brings together a multi-generational cast of talented actors from the North and South such as Quang Tuan, Nguyen Thao, Vo Tan Phat, Lan Phuong... In particular, the return to the screen of veteran faces: Meritorious Artist Phu Don, Meritorious Artist Van Bau, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy, Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan... also makes the audience wait.

To get into character, the actors had to live with the character by wearing makeup for a long time, acting passionately under the harsh weather conditions of Ha Giang , lacking in every way.

Overcoming initial apprehension, many actors said they were surprised and excited by the unprecedented experience of filming a long-running series. Sharing about the role of Thap Nuong, Lan Phuong emphasized: “I did not play a human but a demon. This is the most intense role I have ever taken on in many years of working, because of the struggle between a bloodthirsty demon and a resentful human, the character's complex inner life.”

She also humorously shared the journey to Ha Giang, the filming process was equally intense. “The road to the film studio in Ha Giang can only be traveled by motorbike. The road is narrow, one side is a cliff and the other side is a very scary abyss. I had to travel 7 times from the filming location to Hanoi to film scenes in the movie "My family is suddenly happy". Sitting behind the motorbike, I was extremely scared and sometimes the motorbike ran out of gas in the middle of the road" , she said.

The actress added that the filming location had no electricity, water, or phone signal. In addition, the distance from the crew's tent to the restroom was very far.

Lan Phuong revealed: "There were days when I was covered in blood and dirt, and the distance to the toilet was nearly 1km long, without electricity and completely deserted. To ease my fear, I had to sing as I walked. Because it was a mountainous area, the water was also cold, so I was shaking and numb from the cold while removing my makeup.

There were nights when I was sleeping in my tent and there was a loud bang on the roof. I was scared but didn't know what to do. This film was the most intense experience I've had in my career."

Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan also revealed that because she was fascinated by the images on the set, she happily accepted the role as soon as the director called, taking a bus to Ha Giang that night so as not to miss the filming scene.

Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy said that as soon as she stepped into the filming set, she felt that the character was completely different from what she imagined when reading the script, "this is the first time I've been so haunted by a role" . Meritorious Artist Van Bau said that in the scene where he calls the souls of the children in the village, he seemed to have become a village elder, "unable to distinguish between the unreal and the real, between himself and the character".

With Quang Tuan, he especially "searched for a lot of documents about the speech and language of ancient people to play the role most perfectly". Meritorious Artist Phu Don, after much hesitation, also decided to "sell his soul to the director".

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thao and Vo Tan Phat both burst into tears when they first saw the realistic setting of Hell village, just like when reading a novel, naturally becoming a villager.

Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by writer Thao Trang, Tet in Hell Village vividly recreates the eerie village hidden in the wild mountains and forests, home to the descendants of the notorious bandits of the Nguyen Lords in Dang Trong.

The villagers here had to suffer a great disaster on a traditional Tet holiday due to the karma caused by their ancestors. The film exposes the barbaric crimes from deep resentment and the Vietnamese concept of cause and effect - karma through horrifying folk magic such as skull wine, human scapegoats, soul possession...

The series consists of 12 episodes, each episode is 45 minutes long and will air at 8pm every Monday and Tuesday from October 23 on K+ TV.
