“The Firewall of Trang An” – the first TV series about online fraud

On September 6, in Hanoi , Hanoi Radio and Television announced information about the film "Trang An Firewall" - a TV series recreating the mind-boggling battle with high-tech criminals, exposing sophisticated virtual currency fraud tricks.

Speaking at the event, journalist Nguyen Kim Khiem, General Director - Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, said that this is one of the station's important projects in 2025.

According to journalist Nguyen Kim Khiem, Hanoi Radio and Television always strives to develop multimedia communications, focusing on producing healthy entertainment products. In that context, the film “Trang An Firewall” was born, reflecting the fight against high-tech crime, depicting the silent feats of the Capital Police officers, nurtured and produced by the collective of scriptwriters and artists of the station.

Regarding the idea of the film, journalist Nguyen Trung Son, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, shared: “In early 2025, at a meeting with voters in the capital, people made many suggestions about the issue of cybercrime. Also at that event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of Hanoi City Police, reported in detail on major fraud cases that the City Police had cracked down on in recent years. These stories gave me the idea for “Trang An Firewall”. The film is a special work in 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the People's Public Security force”.

The 40-45 episode series “Trang An Firewall” revolves around the fight against cryptocurrency crimes by the People’s Public Security Forces, inspired by real events. Notably, the cryptocurrency crime case was cracked down by Hanoi Police at the end of 2024.

According to screenwriter Vu Liem, the film's script is distilled from real life stories, adding to the climax with cinematic situations. Through this, the film exposes the sophisticated tricks of high-tech criminals, from investment fraud, money laundering to system manipulation. Notably, the Mr. Pips case that caused a stir in society in 2024.

The film crew promises to continuously push the climax, taking the audience through many surprises in the story, thereby attracting the audience with breathtaking intellectual battles between the police force and high-tech criminal gangs, as well as a series of realistically staged chases and confrontations.

Delving into the thrilling topic of criminal investigation, while also suggesting social challenges in the digital age, the film chooses a new direction of exploitation, linked to the current context, helping the audience to both entertain and have a more vigilant perspective on the pitfalls in cyberspace in the 4.0 era. The work also has the meaning of propaganda, education , and honoring the bravery of the People's Public Security force, especially the Capital Public Security.

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, said that the city police force is ready to work alongside producers and directors during the film production process to advise on highly professional situations, and at the same time send representatives to participate in some roles in the film to make the images and stories more vivid and realistic.

According to the announcement, the film has the participation of Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai, Meritorious Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen and many other actors. Notably, Major Mai Ly - famous for her image as a "street girl" in the recent simulated exercise to maintain street security shared her willingness to participate in a suitable role in the film. Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh and runner-up Tran Ngoc Chau Anh also expressed their desire to participate in the film.

“Trang An Firewall” not only exposes the tricks of virtual currency fraud but also reflects the opposition between good and evil, between justice and greed. It is also the journey of building a firewall with the bravery, intelligence and humanity of Hanoians. The film also cleverly incorporates the beauty, culture and lifestyle of Hanoians.
