The Portuguese strategist is trying to bring in a new quality goalkeeper in this summer transfer window.

However, according to Argentine journalist Gaston Edul, Amorim could not convince the owners at Old Trafford to spend a lot of money to bring in a new goalkeeper.

MU has contacted Emiliano Martinez for a transfer. SunSport exclusively revealed that Amorim is a big fan of the 2022 World Cup champion.

Aston Villa could let Martinez leave for around £40 million. However, so far MU have only asked for a loan and were immediately rejected.

Edul shared on YouTube channel 412: " The coaching team, especially Amorim, wants Dibu Martinez. The 32-year-old goalkeeper himself knows how much the Portuguese coach 'loves' him.

Unfortunately, Amorim could not convince the board that spending money to buy a top-class goalkeeper for MU was important. They told him, Andre Onana is still here."

Last year, Dibu Martinez signed a five-year deal with Aston Villa. However, he was linked with a move this summer after waving goodbye to fans in the final game of last season.

In addition to Martinez, MU is also eyeing Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), Verbruggen (Brighton) and Senne Lammens (Antwerp).
